A little fundraising idea came into fruition on Saturday night when popular local 60’s band The Thunderbeats performed for the first time in over 50 years. It was the brainchild of Andy Park (Andy Park Promotions) and the remaining Thunderbeats bandmembers who decided to host the event to raise funds for Eden Valley Hospice in memory of Karen’s dad Allan Davidson who was a bandmember. Sadly, shortly not long into the organising of the event Ken Percival who was their manager and was also due to perform died suddenly which made the purpose of the evening even more poignant. Local acts Sue Moxon, Martin Armstrong and Doug Pearson also performed brilliantly along with the band in Heads Nook Village Hall where Allan was chairperson for 25 years. We had a fabulous evening of music and fundraising with the most amazing raffle prizes and donations donated by the most supportive local businesses. We were all touched by your kindness and generosity and managed to raise £2022 for Eden Valley Hospice. Our grateful thanks go to all the acts who donated their time along with;
